Used 1 Iron Golf Clubs

In short: A 1 iron is the longest, lowest-lofted iron in a set, at about 16 to 18 degrees of loft. These used 1 iron golf clubs are each sold on their own, so you can add one to your bag or replace a lost one without buying a new set. 6 in stock today, from £5.50 to £29.50. Most are listed with the shaft and flex in the title, and UK postage is capped at £3.95 an order.

Looking for a 1 iron to complete your set? You can replace just that one club. The 1 irons here come from makers such as Ping and Adams, each photographed from several angles, and most are listed with the shaft and flex in the title. To match your set, check the model name, the shaft (steel or graphite) and its flex, and on Ping irons the colour dot. Can’t see the one you need? Questions about single 1 irons

Can I buy just one 1 iron to match my set?

Yes. Every 1 iron here is sold on its own, so you can replace one lost or broken club without buying a new set.

How do I match a replacement 1 iron to the rest of my set?

Match the make and model first, then the shaft: steel or graphite, and its flex, such as regular or stiff. Most listings give the shaft and flex in the title. On a Ping 1 iron, match the colour dot as well, because it shows the lie angle the club was built to.

Would a hybrid be easier to hit than a 1 iron?

Many golfers find a hybrid easier to get airborne than a long iron, which is why hybrids often replace the 3 and 4 iron. Our mint condition and clearance sections both list hybrids, sold singly.

What if the 1 iron I need is not listed?

Email sales@newandusedgolfclubs.co.uk or call 07880 706308 with the model, shaft and flex you need. We hold more stock than we have listed online, so it is always worth asking.

What is a 1 iron, and is a driving iron the same?

A 1 iron is the longest iron in a traditional set, with about 16 to 18 degrees of loft. A driving iron, also called a utility iron, is a more modern long iron with a wider sole and a head built to launch the ball more easily. It fills the same gap in the bag, and some carry a 1 or 2 on the sole.

Who still carries a 1 iron?

Mostly strong, consistent ball strikers who want a low, controllable shot off the tee on tight or windy courses, and collectors of classic sets. Most golfers now fill that gap with a fairway wood or a hybrid, which launch the ball higher.

How much is postage?

UK postage is capped at £3.95 an order, however many items you buy. Orders are despatched within 24 hours and UK delivery usually takes 3 working days. Outside the UK, please call 07880 706308 for a postage quote before buying.
